Somewhere Safe to Turn
Launching soon, Safe Haven, our new service, will provide a safe and welcoming space for those who’ve reached the point where it feels like there’s no way out.
The project highlights the power of working collaboratively, made possible due to the commitment of local partners making up our Steering Group – we can’t do everything on our own and working together, we’re stronger. Drawing on the experiences of those with lived experience and their families, alongside the expertise of TEWV, the Local Authority, Housing providers and the wider VCS network, we’re confident that Safe Haven will become an essential resource for the local people of Redcar and Cleveland.
Our dedicated team will deliver a flexible and compassionate approach to mental health crisis care with the aim of providing immediate person-centred support and connecting community-based services and formal mental health support for those who need it. Our broader aim is to improve mental health across communities and reduce pressure on urgent care services.
Safe Haven will be accessible at evenings and weekends when other community-based support is less available. We’ll have agreed referral routes into mental health services and access to clinical assessments on-site if needed, facilitating access to appropriate continuing support. We’re looking forward to sharing more details with you in the coming weeks.
