Why is Mental Health Recovery Support So Important Right Now?
Telling the story of Recovery Support hasn’t been easy. It’s difficult to express just how unique it is, and the actual impact it can make on the person experiencing it. But it’s a story we need to tell, so that we can support more people locally.

We decided to ask a group of people with lived experience what Recovery Support meant to them, so that we could create an animation to help people really understand the service.
Dave was supported by the Recovery Team and agreed to help us shape the animation.
He says: "I started with the Recovery College a year ago and it's made a big difference to how I manage my depression. When I was asked to get involved with the animation and share my story and thoughts, I can't describe how much it meant to me. I was blown away that people wanted to listen to what I had to say. When you're in my position and living with depression, you hold on to things like this. I think the animation will open people's eyes to what help is available and what Recovery Support can do for them. People can relate to the story and think, 'I'm struggling too but there's somewhere to go for help'."
